The Position

Who we are:

The Finance organization (FDO) contains Global Operations, Q&R, ICSC, S&T Sites Services and the local finance organization of RDG/RES (Mannheim/Penzberg), RDA (Ludwigsburg), RDI (Rotkreuz) and RDO (Indianapolis).

What to expect:

FDO started its transformation last October. A diverse global team developed a FDO specific network-chapter concept with a set of shared ambitions for the upcoming years to enable us to support the Diagnostics business and finance. The ambitions are: evolve strong, strategic business partnering, act as one team (FDO home), focus resources, optimize processes and establish aligned data & tools. The new organization contains three global networks, six global chapters and 4 local finance organizations. Dedicated sprint teams (> 50 FDO people) including feedback from the organization elaborated on the activities, interfaces, roles and responsibilities and the organizational structure of each chapter.

We are now in the process of recruiting for new exciting key positions. One of these is the Capex Chapter Expert (m/f/d)

Your key accountabilities and deliverables:

Drive the annual budget and multi-year capex plan for S&T sites, global operations and global function Q&R, globally.

Drive annual capex target setting including allocation of management adjustments either centrally or individually for each global function, as well as prioritization of the capex portfolio, together with Network Leads and Finance Business Partners.

Provide data-driven decision support through value management and incorporation of S&T site, Global Operations and Q&R strategies.

Lead Capital Review Boards for all site and functional investment requests and conduct business and financial reviews and prepare for management approval.

Actively challenge all PIs (project initiation) to ensure proper problem definition, development of alternative options and appropriate prioritization.

Build business cases and challenge underlying assumptions and conduct a sensitivity analysis as a team.

Advise and support stakeholders in the project approval process.

Develop and drive a harmonized capex process with a drive for optimization, automation, efficiency and continuous improvement of structures, systems and processes.

Optimize the portfolio forecast accuracy, drive a shift in thinking, strengthen analytics and decision making in global credit.

Responsible for good and effective collaboration between network leaders, business partnering and cross-functional chapters, and for well-functioning E2E processes.

Build and foster an agile mindset and ensure appropriate training and education to develop and maintain high level skills.

Who you are:

You have successfully finished your Master's degree in finance/economics (MBA preferred).

You have already gained 3 or more years of professional experience in finance, ideally at Roche.

You have a proven track record/experience working in finance with various stakeholders.

You bring proven finance and capex experience creating, reviewing and evaluating a variety of different capex and non capex business cases, project initiations (PI), etc.

Your organizational and project management skills are outstanding, particularly in matrix or chapter/network structures, stakeholder management, consideration of business issues and balancing the interests of various functions.

You have international experience in business and working with people worldwide.

Your creative approach to finding solutions and your evident drive to further develop your professional profile complements your resume.

You are fluent in German and English (spoken and written).
