Job description You will be a key member of the Finance Business Partner branch contributing to business decision-making, advising SCS and other key stakeholders on a variety of financial and related. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and driving performance up across your business area, as HMRC continues to undergo a period of transformational change. You ll be part of a team of business partners who at the core of their role is to provide HMRC customers with a full finance service that meets both current and future needs. Your core responsibility will be as the lead business partner for one of the CFO Group Directorates, which include Estates and Locations and Banking and Assurance. We are responsible for ensuring and enabling teams to have full understanding of financial resources, whilst providing advice and knowledge to help deliver their wider objectives and create good financial management across the directorate. Responsibilities What does a Finance Business Partner do at HMRC? Well, you will be an imperative part of our team, leading the delivery of spending reviews and fiscal events. We also lead the translation of financial data, adding key insights that able us to lead key discussions with seniors and Ministers. Here are some things you will also be responsible for in this role: Translating, owning and adding insight to financial data to provide clear information and evidence to support business activities and requirements. Reviewing and providing input to business cases/ strategic documentation. Identifying and applying relevant costs, benefits and investment appraisal techniques. Providing analysis and presentations to drive and support business decisions, such as efficiency and cost reduction options, using all available data and analytics tools. Own strategic product development and leadership. Providing ad-hoc analysis and presentations to the business and across finance functions. Leading responses and developing resolutions as required for ad-hoc enquiries including PQs / FOIs. Essential skills/experience: It is essential that the successful candidate has demonstrable skills in managing stakeholder relationships, acting as the critical translator between finance to business. Experience of influencing policy developments, using evidence to support decision making. Experience in leading others to successful delivery with clear products and outcomes for the process. Working in a financial environment with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Candidates are expected to be a qualified member of an accountancy body with a part qualification with CCAB or CIMA or studying towards an accountancy body qualification. Consideration will be made to those who have or are committed to studying but have not yet commenced studying. It is desirable that the candidate has the following skills and experiences: Experience of Office 365.
