Our client in Richmond, VA is in immediate need of a Quality Manager. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3pm. The Quality Manager reports to the Operations Manager. This position has authority over, and is responsible for, the quality control and assurance functions of the manufacturing environment. May oversee one employee.
Role and Responsibilities:
Guiding the production process to make sure that all products meet consistent quality standards.
Developing and implementing quality control tests, inspecting products at various stages, documenting production issues and creating actionable reports.
Evaluation / qualification of new materials and manufacturing process improvements.
Audits of all quality-related documents, programs, and systems.
Oversight of completed work in accordance with quality standards.
Communicate and act as liaison to DEQ, OSHA, UL and other oversight agencies.
Coordinate and manage internal / external audits & inspections.
Eliminate products that are not up to standards by identifying and eliminating the root cause of defects.
Train and assist other personnel in new Quality processes and methodologies.
Create and manage training material to assure quality compliance and standardization.
Ensure a safe work environment.
Work according to deadlines for the delivery of products.
Track products through the manufacturing process to guarantee that each part of the process is correct.
Define and run the morning (6:30am) Production tier board meeting.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Positive, can-do attitude.
Continuous improvement mindset is paramount.
Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Excellent written, verbal communication and negotiation skills.
Customer focused - understanding customer needs and requirements.
Autonomous & Self-motivated.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Ability to multi-task and follow-through.
Capable of working in an environment in which demands and priorities change.
Understand and adhere to all company policies, environmental health, and safety guidelines.
Able to work overtime when required (minimal).
Valid Virginia driver's license and reliable transportation.
United States Citizen or have current Green Card status.
Consent to pre-employment drug testing.
