A lord is someone who has power and authority; a master or ruler. Christians believe Jesus is Lord and King, but why do we have trouble surrendering? He declares, "All authority in Heaven and on Earth has been given to me...Therefore go and make disciples... teach them to do everything I have commanded you, and surely I am with you always to the very end of the age!" When we gave our lives to Jesus, we signed up for a lifestyle of surrender. Not my will Lord, but Yours be done.
